POLICY / TERMS & CONDITIONS

Important Policy Reminders:

  • All road test fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. This includes but is not limited to illness, personal emergencies, transportation issues, or scheduling conflicts.

    We require minimum of a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your road test. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in forfeiture of your payment.

    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we maintain fairness and integrity in our scheduling process.

    Cancellation or Rescheduling a Road Test:
  • A minimum 24-hour notice is required to reschedule or cancel.
  • Missed appointments or late arrivals will result in forfeiture of payment.

Cancellations & Refund Eligibility

If you cancel your Authorized DPS Road Test with at least 24 hours’ notice, your appointment will be eligible for a refund upon request.

Please note:

  • Refunds are not automatic — they must be manually processed by our office.
  • To request a refund, contact us at 281-353-9377 .
  • Refunds are issued back to the original payment method through Shopify once approved.

If the cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the appointment, no refund will be issued under any circumstance.

Eligibility to Test:

You must be 16 or older and have a valid Texas Learner License or Temporary Permit with your photo on the permit.

  • 16 & 17 Yrs: Must have held permit over 6 months. This date is listed on the back of your permit.  You must schedule your road test appointment AFTER the 6 month date.  It CANNOT be on or before the 6 month date.
  • Lost hard copy? Request a replacement from the DPS office. Paper permits expire after 60 days and photos on phones are not accepted.
  • Must have in your possession the DE964 Texas Driver Education Certificate that states "FOR DRIVERS LICENSE ONLY" at the top of the certificate.
  • 18 - 24 yrs: Must have in your possession the ADE1317 Texas Driver Education Certificate.

Before Your Road Test

  • Once you pass the road test, make a DPS appointment to get your license issued:

Vehicle Requirements

If using your own car:

  •  Current inspection & registration
  • Front and rear license plates
  • Printed proof of liability insurance (your name does not have to be on the policy)

If needed, you may rent an A-Plus Driving School vehicle for $75 (cash or card). You may pay for the rental when you arrive for your appointment.  Call ahead to reserve.

Impact Video Requirement

All testers must complete and print a certificate from the DPS Impact Texas Drivers Program within 90 days of the road test:

What to Bring to the Road Test/ Checklist

You MUST ARRIVE 20 minutes early with printed copies of the following:

No Refunds for Late/missed appointments

Ages 16–17

  • Parent or legal guardian must be present
  • Valid Texas learner license (held for OVER 6 months)
  • DE-964 Certificate labeled “For Driver License Only”
  • If transferred from another course: Bring both original and transferred DE-964
  • ITTD (Impact Texas Teen Drivers) Certificate
  • Printed proof of car insurance (unless using A-Plus vehicle)

Ages 18–24

  • Valid, unexpired Texas Learner License
  • ADE-1317 Certificate from a 6-Hour Adult Driver Ed Course
  • ITAD (Impact Texas Adult Drivers) Certificate (within 90 days)
  • Printed proof of car insurance (unless using A-Plus vehicle)

Ages 25+

  • Valid, unexpired Texas Learner License
  • ITAD (Impact Texas Adult Drivers) Certificate (within 90 days)
  • Printed proof of car insurance (unless using A-Plus vehicle)

Note: If applying for your first license over 25, a 6-Hour Adult Driver Ed Course is not required—but recommended. You must have passed the written permit test at DPS.

Fees

  • Road Test Fee: $75.  (Paid online) Includes up to 3 test attempts
  • Vehicle Rental (optional): $75 per test (Pay upon arrival)

Important Appointment Instructions:

To ensure a smooth and timely check-in process, please follow the guidelines below:

  • Arrive Prepared: All required documents must be printed and ready to submit upon arrival. We do not accept digital documents and are unable to print forms on-site.
  • Early Arrival Required: Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in and paperwork.
  • No Exceptions for Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, you will be required to reschedule. No refunds will be issued for missed or late appointments.

If you fail the Road Test:

You may schedule 2 more retests within 90 days of failing your first test, without having to pay again.  You will need to practice at home and once you are confident and ready, you may call in to schedule your retest by phone. We do not schedule retests for the same day.

After you have Passed the Road Test:

A-Plus will give to you a sealed envelope with your Original Certificates you provide to us and your test scores. You will need to make an appointment to take the envelope to the DPS office to have your license issued.

Once you have made this Road Test Appointment with A-Plus, you will need to make an appointment to have your Driver's License issued. When you make your appointment with DPS, navigate DPS website for appointments, input teens information and select the option of CHANGE/REPLACE OR RENEW A TEXAS DRIVERS LICENSE

Items you will need for DPS once you have passed the Road Test:

16 & 17 years: 
___ Our Sealed Envelope contains DE964 Certificate, Impact Video Certificate & Test scores
___ VOE (Verification of Enrollment form from your high school attendance office) 
         contact your high school attendance office for this form. VOE is valid for 30 Days.
___ Teens Texas Permit
___ Birth Certificate and Social Security Card (We advise you take this in case they ask for it)
___ 30 Hour log from your driving course (showing parent Practice hours at home)
___ Fee for Drivers License  under $20 (please see DPS website for exact price) 
___ Parent or Legal Guardian must accompany you to the DPS

18 & Older:
___ 18-24 yrs old: Our Sealed Envelope: contains AD1317 Certificate, Impact Video Certificate & Test scores
___ 25 & Older Our Sealed Envelope: contains Impact Video Certificate & Test scores
